Regulation AB II is almost here!

The SEC announced that on Feb. 5 they will propose final changes to loan level data disclosures for all asset backed securities including CMBS. This rule, known as Reg AB II, is an update to the original Reg AB that governed securitization rules during the financial crisis.

Learn more about Reg AB at pwc.com.

The press release did not say what was going to happen on the 5th but did say: “The revisions would require asset-backed issuers to provide enhanced disclosures including information for certain asset classes about each asset in the underlying pool in a standardized, tagged format and revise the shelf offering process and eligibility criteria for asset-backed securities.”

Looks like a final rule may be close. I am off to Orlando for a MBA Conference next week. I will post again after the SEC announcement.
